August & September's Character
Trait is RESPECT

Respect applies to so many things:  respect for self, respect for others, respect for learning, respect for our school, respect for family, and respect for teachers--just to name a few!  As we begin the school year, respect is particularly important in building a positive, healthy school culture and environment at Roosevelt.

Click this link to access information about our November 4th Keynote Speaker, Jon Moffat, who will be speaking about ways to help your teen successfully navigate the challenging and increasingly popular world of technology and social media.  Knowing how to support your teen in this way is essential to helping mitigate Cyberbullying.

All of the information Principal Golly covered at the 8/31/17 Back to School Night is permanently located (with live links) on our website.  Click the "Parents" tab and then the "Communication" option in the dropdown menu to access the "Communication" page.  It's also linked under "Communication" as a Quick Link on the left side of the home page!

Artful Learning Comes to RMS!

Roosevelt Middle School is an Emergent Leonard Bernstein Artful Learning School.  This video documents portions of our staff training in August, 2017.  In this video, you'll see teachers' hands-on learning of the Artful Learning sequence: Experience, Inquire, Create, and Reflect.  Also depicted are teachers learning about and practicing some of the Arts Based Skills and Strategies that all students can look forward to experiencing at Roosevelt Middle School.  We are so excited about this year and everything Artful Learning will bring for our students!  Enjoy the video!

RMS Pride Talks This Week!

It is important for us at Roosevelt to make our big school feel small.  One way we do this at RMS is the way we structure ourselves into small teams of teachers and students.  Since our school mascot is the Wildcat, we call these teams "Prides."  We want to welcome all of our students to this new school year, so RMS Administrators and Counselors are hosting Pride Talks for all RMS students this week.  Rather than doing this in a large forum, we choose to host our Pride Talks in small groups in the library.  We are happy to report that we will have had Pride Talks with all RMS Prides by the end of the first week of school (8/25)!
